Kutcha was named NAIDOC Indigenous Person of the Year, 2001-2002 Previous winners have included Cathy Freeman and Anthony Mundine.
September 2001
Kutcha was awarded Male Artist of the Year - 2001 at the Deadly Vibe Music Awards in Sydney. The Deadly's are the National Aboriginal Music Awards equivalent of the Aria Awards.

Kutcha has been involved in teaching songwriting skills through out Victoria to school children and community organisations. Koori Open Door Education schools - Glenroy, Mildura, Morwell, Northlands Secondary College, Koorong Tongala, Prisons and Youth Detention Centres
